Privacy Policy

1. The SkillWorks website is managed by Clarity Creation, 2 Queen Square, Liverpool, L1 1RH on behalf of Greater Merseyside Learning and Skills Council.

2. The SkillWorks website, with the exception of the registration systems does not capture or store personal information, but merely logs the user's IP address (the Internet address of your computer) to give us an idea of which part of the website you visit and how long you spend there.

3. In common with many other websites the SkillWorks website may use standard technology called a "cookie" to collect information about how you use the site; this is a small data file that writes to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages visited, but the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites.

4. Some parts of the SkillWorks website may use cookies to track user traffic patterns. We do this in order to determine the usefulness of the website information to our users and to see how effective the navigational structure is in helping users reach that information. Keep you up to date on the latest service announcements or other information the Learning and Skills Council Greater Merseyside thinks you'd like to hear about either from us or from our partners
To understand your needs and provide you with better services

10. Because the Learning and Skills Council is a National Non Departmental Public Body, information may be shared between other Learning and Skills Council local offices and the National LSC offices.

By providing personal information you are deemed to consent to your personal information being shared outside the LSC in the following circumstances:

Where the LSC needs to share your information to provide the service you have requested
Where the LSC needs to send the information to companies who work on behalf of LSC to provide a service to you (we will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose)
Where the LSC wants to keep you up to date on the latest service announcements, software updates or other information the LSC thinks you would like to hear about either from us or from our business partners
The LSC will also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law in urgent circumstances, to protect personal safety, the public or our website.
LSC data is stored on servers with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in the United Kingdom where LSC or its business partners are located.
